What is InYunnan?

InYunnan is an independent English-language resource for foreigners visiting and living in Yunnan, China. We publish practical, locally-verified guides on visa entry, living essentials, language learning, food, and travel.

Why We Started This

China's visa-free policies have opened the country to millions of new visitors, but reliable English-language information about Yunnan remains hard to find. Existing resources are either outdated, commercially biased (tour agencies selling packages), or scattered across forums and old blog posts.

We wanted to build something better: a modern, fast, regularly-updated guide written with actual local knowledge — not scraped from other websites or written by someone who visited once.

Our Approach

• Locally verified — Our information comes from people who live in Kunming, not remote content writers. Prices, addresses, and practical details are checked against reality.
• Regularly updated — We mark every guide with "Last verified" dates so you know how current the information is.
• Independent — We're not a tour agency, language school, or government portal. We recommend things because they're good, not because someone paid us.
• Fast and simple — No pop-ups, no cookie walls, no 25-second page loads. Just the information you need.
